What's on your Football Sunday Menu?
Gathering to cheer on the Vikings is a Minnesota ritual. It’s also a good excuse to make delicious snacks that everyone loves. This was our Football Sunday menu last weekend, and everything came from Dean’s. What was yours?
Chicken Wings- a perennial favorite. We bought a bag of Open Acre frozen wings, thawed them and used a dry rub to roast them in the oven until crispy. Here’s the recipe we used: https://www.lemonsforlulu.com/dry-rub-chicken-wing/
Stromboli- could there be an easier, cheesier snack? We hardly needed a recipe because we used Pillsbury pizza crust (in the dairy section) and Green Mill pizza sauce (in aisle 3). Here are instructions: http://coorec.com/p/quick-and-easy-stromboli
Deviled Eggs- It’s nice to have a cold food option on the buffet. Creamy deviled eggs are also a good protein choice and affordable to make. We added chopped pickles to the filling for extra crunch. https://www.spendwithpennies.com/dill-pickle-deviled-eggs/
Sweet Chili Meatballs- we love an opportunity to incorporate Dean’s fresh ground burger into the menu. Meatballs are a great make-ahead option too. We simmered home-made meatballs in a can of cranberry jelly and a jar of chili sauce, but you can use frozen pre-made meatballs too! https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/cranberry-chili-meatballs/amp
Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms- Bacon. Need we say more? Make these. Recipe: https://www.onionringsandthings.com/bacon-and-cream-cheese-stuffed-mushrooms/
Strawberry Crumb Bars- gotta have something sweet! These are made easy with canned pie filling and sour cream. Here’s the recipe: https://therecipecritic.com/2013/05/strawberry-pie-sour-cream-crumb-bars/
